3 February 2012 - Hong Kong - With so many good African, particularly Kenyan marathoners around nowadays, it takes a bit of initiative to get into foreign races if you’re not one of the sub-2:10 brigade. So when Julius Maisei heard that the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon – an IAAF Bronze Label Event - was paying good prize money without an overly talented field, he chanced a thousand dollars on an air fare and a hotel room last year.

But no doubt on Sunday (5) the Vladimir Kutz Arena will be crammed with fans of athletics. since the 'Russian Winter', the second IAAF Indoor Permit Meeting of 2012, is always adored by the Moscow public.

Kent Endurance athletics will be holding a free workshop for coaches interested in race walking.  The workshop will be led by Chris Hobbs, a highly experienced race walking coach, who is part of the England Athletics Coach Development Programme.

England Athletics was greatly saddened to hear of the death of Paul Blissett. Paul was a coach with Leicester Coritanian and worked for England Athletics as an Area Coach Mentor for Endurance.

Check out the Men's DMR the showcased two of the most unassuming distance relay teams in the country, Texas A&M and Oklahoma. The two teams ran the two fastest times in Armory history which also are the new #1 and #2 times in the NCAA. Henry Lelei of A&M anchored the team with a 3:57 to take the relay title.

Chris O'Hare of Tulsa, the 2011 NCAA Indoor Mile runner-up and 3:56 miler, break the Loftus facility record at Notre Dame's 2012 Meyo Invitational in a time of 2:20.99 which is over a three second PR for O'Hare. Chris will take to the track next weekend in New York City at the Millrose Games to be a part of a mile race that will be going after the collegiate record in the mile! Seems like O'Hare is in a good spot right now, looking forward to next week.
